
VOV.VN - VietJet Air and Lao Airlines to sign a new cooperation agreement on aircraft maintenance in Vientiane, Laos, on July 12.
Under the signed document, the two sides plan to establish a flight school which will train pilots, flight attendants, and technical staff in Laos.
Addressing the signing ceremony, Lao Minister of Public Works and Transport Gnampasong Meuangmany emphasised that the deal marks an important milestone in the effective cooperation between the two carriers, allowing Lao Airlines to provide high-quality maintenance services and help save costs for VietJet Air.
The agreement contributes to enhancing the relationship between the two airlines and fostering the special relationship that exists between the two countries, he noted.
He expressed his belief that the deal will bring about mutual benefits and opportunities to both sides, with the scope of cooperation being expanded moving forward.
For his part, Dinh Viet Phuong, CEO of VietJet Air, underscored the importance of the agreement in strengthening technical linkages between the two airlines, adding that the deal will provide a solid foundation for a series of cooperation schemes in the coming time.
Budget carrier Vietjet Air plans to gradually increase the frequency of its round-trip flights between Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City and Australia to 17 per week in a bid to meet high travel demand during the peak season.
