
VOV.VN - The northern border province of Lang Son marked International Yoga Day 2025 with a vibrant celebration and Indian cultural exchange on May 31, highlighting the locality’s rich cultural heritage, scenic landscapes, and welcoming people to domestic and international audiences alike.
The event, co-hosted by the Lang Son Provincial People's Committee, the Embassy of India in Vietnam, and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), serves as a platform to promote cultural understanding and health awareness through yoga. The programme aimed to spotlight the holistic benefits of yoga for physical and mental well-being, encouraging greater community engagement in the practice.
Provincial leaders emphasised that the festival not only nurtures cultural appreciation but also strengthens ties and opens new avenues for cooperation between Lang Son and Indian localities.
The opening ceremony featured a traditional Indian lamp-lighting ritual and a captivating art performance showcasing both Vietnamese and Indian artists, creating a unique blend of cultures.
One of the event’s standout moments was a mass yoga performance, with over 300 practitioners taking part in a powerful display of unity and wellness.
As part of the festivities, the organisers also held the "Shine Yoga" competition, awarding 28 prizes, including first, second, and third places, to outstanding practitioners, recognising their dedication to and skills in yoga.
The 10th International Yoga Day took place in Quy Nhon city, the central province of Binh Dinh on August 17.
As many as 150 people joined a yoga performance in the southern province of Ben Tre on June 26 to mark the 10th International Yoga Day themed “Yoga for Women’s Empowerment”.
