VOV.VN - Hanoi will host a free open-air symphony concert on July 4 at the Octagonal Pavilion beside Hoan Kiem Lake, bringing together leading musicians, conductors and young performers from Vietnam and several other countries as part of the Crescendo International Music Festival 2026.
Titled “Crescendo – Symphony of Connection,” the concert will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Octagonal Pavilion in Ly Thai To Flower Garden, overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake in the heart of the Vietnamese capital.
The event is organised under the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, in collaboration with Thang Long Song and Dance Theatre and Toa Sang Performing Arts JSC.
Staged in one of Hanoi's most iconic public spaces, the concert aims to bring symphonic music closer to the public while promoting the capital as the City for Peace, a UNESCO Creative City, and an emerging destination for international cultural events.
It will feature the Crescendo Festival Orchestra alongside musicians, professors, conductors and young talents from Vietnam, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Austria, China and Brunei. The lineup includes Japanese pianist Prof. Rintaro Akamatsu, Korean conductor Daniel Park, conductor Dustin Tieu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huy Phuong, Dr. Nguyen Trinh Huong, Meritorious Artist Duong Minh Chinh, artist Nguyen Khac Hoa, and singer Khanh Linh.
According to organisers, the programme is designed as a continuous musical journey that blends masterpieces of the world's symphonic repertoire with Vietnam's rich cultural identity.
The evening will open with Summer from Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, performed by violinist Trinh Minh Hien and the Crescendo Festival Orchestra. It will also feature international classics such as The Nightingale and Largo al factotum from Gioachino Rossini's opera The Barber of Seville, alongside well-known Vietnamese works.
Admission is free, allowing both residents and visitors to experience an evening of symphonic music in one of Hanoi's most scenic public spaces.
A special concert titled “The Flow of Music” took place in Hanoi on May 31 to celebrate the 76th anniversary of Vietnam – Poland diplomatic ties.
