Political-artistic concert to feature mass chorus of national anthem on National Day

VOV.VN - The political-artistic concert To quoc trong tim (The Fatherland in Our Hearts) is set take place at 8 p.m. on August 10 at My Dinh National Stadium, as announced by Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper and the Hanoi People’s Committee on August 1.

The event is a major cultural and political activity, opening a series of celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945- August 19, 2025) and the National Day (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025).

The program is expected to draw a 50,000-strong audience, all dressed in red shirts with yellow stars, filling the stands and singing the national anthem in unison.

According to Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vice Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, the organizers hope this will be a sacred moment that unites millions of Vietnamese people through music, pride, and patriotism.

To quoc trong tim is envisioned as a patriotic symphony, where millions of Vietnamese hearts beat in harmony beneath the national flag. With the message “The Fatherland is not far away, it lies in each of our hearts,” the event offers an emotional journey that connects the heroic past with aspirations for the present and future. As a free gift to the public, the concert also demonstrates Nhan Dan’s leading role in shaping meaningful cultural and spiritual spaces with wide-reaching influence.

Demand for the event has exceeded all expectations. Within minutes of the registration portal opening, more than 3 million people tried to access the system to secure tickets. However, only around 50,000 will be distributed.

The large-scale production features a 26-meter-high stage divided into four zones: Independence, Freedom, Happiness, and the Red Flag with Yellow Star. The performance area is shaped like the letter “V”-a symbol of Vietnam and victory, serving as a vivid expression of patriotism.

Chief director Dang Le Minh Tri shared that the program will recreate historic milestones tied to the national flag and foster emotional connections between generations. One of the standout moments will be the largest-ever live flag-raising ceremony, with tens of thousands rising together, facing the red flag with yellow star, and singing the national anthem in a solemn atmosphere.

The event will bring together top artists from multiple generations, along with 68 cadets from the First Army Officer Training School, who previously represented the Vietnam People’s Army at the Victory Day parade on Moscow’s Red Square.

The evening will close with an eight-minute fireworks display at the F1 racetrack area in My Dinh, featuring 300 high-altitude fireworks and 60 low-level racks, promising a spectacular visual finale to conclude a night of patriotic emotion.
