VOV.VN - The Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Hanoi on June 10 celebrated Russia Day (June 12) and introduced the ARTEK International Children's Centre, highlighting the role of youth exchanges in strengthening the longstanding friendship and educational cooperation between Vietnam and Russia.
In his opening remarks, Vladimir Murashkin, director of the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Hanoi, said the event was organised both to mark Russia Day and to present Vietnamese students with opportunities to participate in educational, experiential and international exchange programmes at ARTEK.
Murashkin noted that the event not only celebrated Russia's cultural heritage, history and achievements, but also helped connect young people from different countries through learning, cultural exchange and practical experiences. He highlighted the important role of youth in shaping the future and expressed confidence in their creativity, ambition and desire to contribute to society.
Panchenko Raisa, programme mannager of the ARTEK International Children's Centre, said the institution follows a comprehensive educational model that enables young people from around the world to meet, learn, experience different cultures and build friendships that transcend geographical boundaries.
To date, ARTEK has welcomed nearly two million children from 123 countries and territories, with around 55,000 participants attending its programmes each year. Its activities focus on fostering creativity, leadership, teamwork and a sense of global citizenship among young people.
Raisa hoped participation in ARTEK would offer Vietnamese students not only access to an international educational environment and opportunities to connect with peers from around the world, but also a chance to deepen mutual understanding and carry forward the longstanding friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and Russia.
As part of the event, ARTEK representatives presented commemorative gifts to partner organisations and individuals in recognition of their contributions to promoting cultural and educational cooperation between the two countries.
The ceremony concluded with performances by the Birch Music Club. Familiar Russian songs created a warm atmosphere, showcasing the richness of Russian culture while helping to strengthen traditional Vietnam–Russia ties and foster closer connections between the younger generations of both countries in an increasingly interconnected world.
Vietnam’s government in the new term will continue working closely with Russia to advance bilateral cooperation across all sectors, while maximising the coordinating role of the Vietnam–Russia Intergovernmental Committee.
A delegation from the Hanoi Department of Public Security, led by its Director, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung, held a meeting with the Moscow Main Directorate of Internal Affairs on June 4, focusing on security and public order, tackling crime, and implementing bilateral agreements.
