VOV.VN - Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has invited Vietnam to attend the 17th International Book Fair of Venezuela (FILVEN) 2021 as the main guest at the event.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela led by Ambassador Le Viet Duyen will represent the country to take part in the fair slated for November.
Ambassador Duyen has sent a document to ask the Authority of Publication, Printing and Distribution to provide a number of books, newspapers, and publications in Spanish which can serve to introduce images of the country’s lands and citizens at the book fair.
During a recent meeting with leaders of The Gioi Publisher, Venezuelan Ambassador to Vietnam Tatiana Pugh Moreno requested that some works be translated from Vietnamese into Spanish so they can be put on display during the course of the fair.
The Venezuelan diplomat hoped that through these translated works, people from Venezuela and other South American nations will be able to gain a deep insight into Vietnamese land and people during their global integration process.
Hanoi – Vietnam’s booth with the theme “Hanoi- City for Peace” is the largest-ever booth since the country has participated the book fair.
Vietnamese culture and people have been introduced to international readers through 300 English publications displayed at the ongoing 42nd International Kolkata Book Fair in West Bengal State, India.
