Canada finds no dumping in Vietnam’s steel strapping
VOV.VN - The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has concluded that the only Vietnamese company currently exporting steel strapping to Canada did not engage in dumping.
VOV.VN - The Australian Government announced that the Anti-Dumping Commission (ADC) has received a request to initiate an investigation into galvanized steel imports from Vietnam and the Republic of Korea, according to the ADC and the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia.
The products under review fall within the tariff codes 7210.49.00, 7212.30.00, 7225.92.00, and 7226.99.00. The ADC is currently assessing the application to determine whether it provides sufficient grounds to formally launch an anti-dumping investigation.
Under Australian law, a decision on whether to initiate the investigation must be made on or before April 20, 2026. The Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade said it would continue working closely with the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia and other stakeholders to keep businesses and industry groups informed about any developments.
The TRAV also advised Vietnamese exporters of galvanized steel to Australia to closely monitor developments and prepare response strategies. Businesses are urged to review all export activities related to the products under investigation, particularly data on export prices and production costs.
Companies are also encouraged to maintain close coordination with the authority to stay updated and to consider engaging experienced international legal counsel specializing in anti-dumping cases. This would help ensure proper preparation of documentation and defene arguments should the investigation proceed.
In addition, exporters are advised to reassess their market strategies, diversify export markets to reduce reliance on a single destination, and develop contingency plans in case anti-dumping duties are imposed.
Early and proactive preparation, the authority noted, would help mitigate potential adverse impacts and strengthen businesses’ ability to safeguard their legitimate interests.
