VOV.VN - The Dak Lak Durian Festival 2026, scheduled from August 15 to September 2, is expected to highlight the province's ambition to strengthen its position as Vietnam's durian hub, promote it as an emerging destination on the regional agricultural tourism map, and enhance the value chain of the durian industry.
The event aims to develop Dak Lak durian into a leading Vietnamese agricultural brand in international markets while encouraging investment in deep processing, logistics, preservation, trade, and sustainable raw material development. It is also expected to become a distinctive cultural and tourism product of the province in the coming years.
The festival would serve as a platform to connect stakeholders across the durian value chain, helping enhance product value, expand markets, promote exports, and showcase Dak Lak's culture, destinations, and investment opportunities to domestic and international visitors, Dao My, vice chairman of the Dak Lak People's Committee, said at a press briefing on July 20.
A key feature of the festival, according to My, will be the Durian Food Festival, due to take place from August 15 to 23 along Phan Dinh Giot Street and at the Dak Lak Museum in Buon Ma Thuot Ward. Hundreds of booths will showcase fresh durian, processed products, local specialties and traditional Central Highlands cuisine.
To create a distinctive visitor experience, food stalls on Phan Dinh Giot Street will be designed to resemble tourist train carriages, combining culinary displays with exhibition spaces and photo opportunities.
The programme will also include an opening ceremony, a large-scale music concert, street parades, a display of One Commune One Product (OCOP) goods, promotional activities for the durian industry, tours of orchards and hands-on experiences in growing areas.
Organisers expected the festival to attract more than 300,000 visitors, helping stimulate tourism and local economic development.
VOV.VN - The Second Asia Durian Conference is set to take place in Ho Chi Minh City on July 14 to discuss ways to strengthen supply chains, improve product quality and expand Vietnam’s official durian exports to China.
VOV.VN - More than 100 Chinese companies have travelled to Vietnam to seek durian suppliers, opening up new opportunities for bilateral cooperation and boosting exports to the world's largest durian import market.
