VOV.VN - The 24th conference of the ASEAN Federation of Accountants (AFA 24) will be held in Hanoi on October 30–31 under the theme Green Accounting and Finance - Shaping a Sustainable Future.
Organised by the Vietnam Association of Accountants and Auditors (VAA), in close coordination with AFA, international professional organisations, and the Vietnamese business community, the regional conference is expected to provide a large-scale, high-quality, and influential platform for knowledge exchange, practical solutions, and strategic insights for the accounting and auditing profession in Vietnam and across the region.
The event will bring together leading experts and speakers from the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), ASEAN Federation of Accountants (AFA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), CPA Australia, the Big Four auditing firms (Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG), the World Bank, the World Energy Council, and other global professional organisations.
“AFA 24 is not only a professional conference but also a milestone to affirm the growing role and position of Vietnam’s accounting and auditing profession in an era of deep international integration. It provides a platform for policymakers, professional organisations, experts, and businesses to exchange experience, update on new technology trends, and jointly shape the future of the profession,” said Prof. Dr. Doan Xuan Tien, President of AFA and VAA.
The conference will also introduce new human resource training models to meet the demands of the green transition and digital transformation – the two decisive trends for sustainable development.
AFA 24 will feature three thematic sessions on Accounting and Sustainable Reporting; Green Finance Models and Practices; and Education, Technology, and the Future of the Profession.
Ahead of the conference, VAA organised a national workshop in Ho Chi Minh City to generate valuable insights and policy recommendations, laying the groundwork for deeper discussions at AFA 24.
In the context of global green and digital transformation, Vietnam’s hosting of AFA 24 carries significant meaning. It not only showcases the country as a dynamic and forward-looking partner but also provides momentum for reform, capacity building, and the development of a transparent, sustainable financial system across ASEAN.
