Hundreds of companies join Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City 2026

Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City 2026 officially opened at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) on June 18, bringing together more than 400 exhibitors from over 17 countries and territories, highlighting the growing dynamism of Vietnam’s automotive industry and its transition toward new-energy mobility.

The exhibition is jointly organised by Messe Frankfurt, Chan Chao International Co. Ltd., and Yorkers Exhibition Service Vietnam. Covering the entire automotive value chain, the event features a comprehensive range of products and services, including vehicle manufacturing, logistics, aftermarket solutions, components, and advanced technologies.

According to Fiona Chiew, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, this year’s three-day exhibition showcases leading international and regional brands, including VinFast of Vietnam, BYD Oway of China, Brembo of Italy, Daeheung of the Republic of Korea, Empire Motor of Japan, and TriAlliance GmbH of Germany. The exhibition also reflects the latest developments in the automotive sector, particularly the rapid growth of Vietnam’s new energy vehicle (NEV) market, which is emerging as a major driver of industry expansion.

Vo Nguyen Hong Son, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Southern Office, said Vietnam’s automotive industry is entering a new phase of development marked by a strong shift toward NEVs, especially electric and hybrid models. This transformation is expected not only to stimulate domestic market growth but also to create fresh opportunities for manufacturers, supporting industries, after-sales services, and technological innovation throughout the automotive ecosystem.

Against this backdrop, Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City 2026 serves not only as a display of products and technologies but also as an important platform for business networking, knowledge exchange, investment promotion, and partnership development.

A series of specialised seminars and training programmes held alongside the exhibition are expected to contribute to workforce development, knowledge sharing, and the enhancement of the industry’s competitiveness in the era of green transition and digitalisation.

Industry statistics show that sales of electric and hybrid vehicles in Vietnam reached 162,039 units in the first quarter of 2026, up more than 36% year-on-year. The growth has been driven largely by VinFast and BYD, the leading automotive manufacturers of Vietnam and China, respectively.
