VOV.VN - A consortium of Korean investors has proposed a US$60 million investment in a luxury resort and golf course complex in Vietnam’s Central Highland province of Gia Lai.
The proposal was presented on August 5 during a meeting between Nguyen Huu Que, vice chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, and representatives from Asia Urban Development Co., Ltd. and MDA E&C Co., Ltd.
At the meeting, Song In-soo, vice chairman of MDA E&C, stated that both companies, which specialise in real estate, urban-industrial infrastructure, and golf course development, see significant potential in Gia Lai for eco-tourism and premium sports activities.
The proposed project includes a luxury resort complex and an international-standard gold course, covering a combined area of 550 hectares. It is designed to serve both recreational and training needs of local and regional communities while attracting international tourists, professionals, and athletes to Gia Lai.
Representatives from provincial departments briefed the Korean executives on available investment incentives, the investor selection process, and suitable project locations in line with legal regulations.
Vice Chairman Nguyen Huu Que welcomed the proposal, reaffirming Gia Lai's openness to foreign investment. He noted the province’s strategic location, natural advantages, and improving infrastructure, saying key upcoming projects such as Runway No. 2 at Phu Cat Airport and the Quy Nhon–Pleiku Expressway are expected to enhance regional connectivity and further support development.
Que emphasised that the proposed project aligns with Gia Lai's development master plan for 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050, as approved by the Prime Minister. He reiterated his commitment to supporting the project and ensuring all favourable conditions are in place for its prompt implementation.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Gia Lai Department of Finance, Asia Urban Development, and MDA E&C, aiming to ramp up cooperation in exploring investment opportunities in the province.
