VOV.VN - The "Make in Vietnam" Digital Technology Product Award 2024 was launched in Hanoi on August 22 to honour outstanding digital technological products in multiple fields.
The launching of the award, co-hosted by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), is part of activities to concretise the Prime Minister’s directive on promoting the development of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises.
Addressing the launching ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Bui Hoang Phuong emphasised that this year’s award aims to honour the outstanding technological products of local firms which have been applied in daily life to create a fresh momentum for the country’s continued economic growth, enhance national competitive advantages, and increase labour productivity.
Furthermore, digital technologies are expected to bring about additional value for people and businesses in the process of digital transformation and digital economic development in multiple fields, he noted.
There will be eight award categories, of which five are for technology products for the digital transformation process, covering spheres such as industry and construction; agriculture, natural resources, and the environment; transportation and post and logistics; as well as education, health, culture, society; finance, banking, trade, and services.
In particular, this year's award has added the category of emerging digital technologies in a bid to seek outstanding products in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), big data, Internet of Things (IoT), and semiconductors.
Organisers will continue to maintain two categories of outstanding digital technologies for foreign markets and potential digital technology products.
The winning digital products will then be nominated to participate in national and international competitions and receive support in investment and trade promotion activities in both domestic and foreign markets.
Enterprises are required to submit their application for the award from August 22 to October 22 via an online platform through the portal (ttps://giaithuong.makeinvietnam.mic.gov.vn). The award ceremony is expected to be held this December within the framework of the National Forum on Developing Vietnamese Digital Technology Enterprises.
The "Make in Vietnam" Digital Technology Product Award is a prestigious and official prize in the field of information technology and communications. After four years of organisation, a total of 234 digital technology products have been awarded.
Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung paid a working trip to the Republic of Korea (RoK) in early August, aiming at bolstering cooperation between the two countries in the areas of digital transformation and AI.
