
VOV.VN - Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc called on Marvell to expand cooperation in training the workforce for the semiconductor industry in Vietnam at a reception in Hanoi on April 7 for Noam Mizrahi, executive vice president and corporate chief technology officer at Marvell.
At the meeting, Ngoc highlighted Marvell group's activities in Vietnam and its initiatives to assist the country in accelerating the semiconductor industry, especially its close cooperation with the National Innovation Center (NIC) in developing the ecosystem and workforce for the industry.
She revealed that the Vietnamese government has approved the Semiconductor Workforce Development Programme through 2030, with a vision for 2050, as well as the Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy for Vietnam up to 2030 with a vision for 2050.
In particular, the Ministry of Finance has tasked the NIC with leading the implementation of the Workforce Development Programme, aiming to train 50,000 engineers by 2030.
She requested that Marvell accelerate its efforts and expand cooperation with Vietnam in the implementation of workforce training programmes for the semiconductor industry. She also encouraged the company to continue expanding its business, research, and development activities in Vietnam, contributing to the growth of the country’s semiconductor industry ecosystem.
For his part, Mizrahi agreed with Ngoc’s proposals and affirmed the company has been closely collaborating with NIC and universities in Vietnam in the fields of training and workforce development, as well as getting involved in connecting to major technology corporations.
He also proposed a number of breakthrough mechanisms and policies to foster the growth of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam.
The central city of Da Nang and Pyeongtaek city of Republic of Korea (RoK) on April 2 agreed to promote exchanges and collaboration in key sectors, including semiconductors, high technology, clean energy, logistics, and port operations, as well as education, culture, sports, and labour.
VOV.VN - On March 24, the Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore, in collaboration with the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA), organized a seminar to introduce the potential and development strategy of Vietnam’s semiconductor industry.
