VOV.VN - Poland has officially completed the final procedures to ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), after President Karol Nawrocki signed the ratification act on November 27.
This makes Poland the 20th of the EU’s 27 member states to approve the agreement.
Earlier, the bill submitted by the Polish Government to ratify the EVIPA was approved with 100% support in the Sejm on October 17 and in the Senate on November 6.
The result demonstrates a shared consensus across all political parties and forces in Poland on strengthening cooperation with Vietnam, the country’s leading partner in Southeast Asia.
The ratification marks the fulfillment of a high-level commitment reached during Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit to Poland in January 2025, during which Poland agreed to finalize its EVIPA ratification procedures within 2025.
Poland’s ratification carries great significance for traditional Vietnam-Poland ties, especially as the two countries celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1950-2025). It is expected to elevate bilateral relations and provide fresh impetus for cooperation across multiple fields, particularly in economics, trade and investment.
Vietnamese Government committed to rapidly resolving obstacles for foreign investors and welcomed European firms to join the country’s high-growth, green transition agenda.
