VOV.VN - The Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations on the morning of March 27 signed a second round of memoranda of understanding with six international organisations, under which the organisations committed nearly US$2.79 million in funding.
Under the plan to mobilise foreign non-governmental aid for 2026-2030, the union signed memoranda of understanding with Habitat for Humanity International ( the United States), Korea Food for the Hungry International ( the Republic of Korea), Social Assistance Program for Vietnam (the United States), Share Sarangbat (the Republic of Korea), Activity International (the Netherlands) and Catalyste+ (Canada).
The organisations committed to a number of practical programmes and projects in the city, focusing on sustainable development, livelihood support, education, healthcare, clean water, disaster prevention, assistance for vulnerable groups, and capacity building for businesses.
Nguyen Ngoc Binh, Chairman of the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations, said the mobilisation of foreign non-governmental aid in recent years has recorded positive results as a contribution to improving living conditions, especially for vulnerable groups.
“The six memoranda of understanding signed today mark a step forward in cooperation and affirm a spirit of humanity, social responsibility and commitment to the sustainable development of Da Nang. They also show the trust and fine sentiment that foreign non-governmental organisations have for the city’s community and people,” he said.
