VOV.VN - The Prime Minister has approved an investment policy for the Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) project, which is developed by Phu Quoc Sun Airlines Co., Ltd., a member of Sun Group.
The main objective of the project is to establish a new commercial airline that will operate both regular passenger flights and charter flights to serve tourism demand. It will connect domestic and international destinations, with a particular focus on facilitating access to Phu Quoc, making it easier for international travelers to reach the Pearl Island.
SPA is expected to have a total fleet size of 31 aircraft by 2030. The project’s total investment capital is VND2,500 billion (approximately US$98.81 million).
The establishment of SPA marks a new milestone in Vietnam’s aviation industry and supports the promotion of Phu Quoc, which has been ranked as the second most beautiful island in the world, after the Maldives. It will offer more travel options and greater convenience for tourists visiting Phu Quoc.
SPA is set to operate its first flights in Q4 2025, connecting Phu Quoc with key economic and tourism hubs both within Vietnam and abroad.
Alongside Sun PhuQuoc Airways, Sun Group is also operating Sun Air, a premium aviation service provider offering private jet services tailored to high-end and personalised travel experiences.
