
VOV.VN - National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and Garuda Indonesia have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at stepping up co-operation to improve passenger and cargo transport services between Vietnam and Indonesia.
The event is expected to open up new opportunities to expand the strategic partnership between the two national airlines.
Under the terms of the MoU, both sides have committed to carrying out joint marketing campaigns aimed at enhancing brand awareness, while promoting linkages in the field of passenger codeshare and other support services such as aircraft leasing, ground services, technical maintenance, and cargo services.
Le Hong Ha, CEO of Vietnam Airlines, expressed his belief that collaboration efforts will bring both immediate and long-term benefits for both airlines.
Vietnam Airlines aspires to continue to maintain and further develop co-operation opportunities in multiple fields, such as services, technical maintenance, and cargo transportation, Ha added.
He noted that the partnership will contribute to boosting ties within the framework of the SkyTeam airline alliance, thereby further accelerating the development of the air transport industry and trade activities between Vietnam and Indonesia.
For his part, Irfan Setiaputra, CEO of Garuda Indonesia, said the strategic partnership marks an important milestone in the airline’s commitment to enhancing the travel experience for passengers across Southeast Asia.
By combining each other's networks, the partnership will provide passengers with easy access to destinations across both nations, while simultaneously promoting tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between the two sides, he stressed.
