VOV.VN - Singapore is currently Vietnam’s largest petroleum import market, with a turnover of US$1.7 billion in the first eight months of 2025.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), in August, Vietnam imported 813,396 tonnes of petroleum of all types worth US$557.5 million, down 25.3% in volume and down 26.4% in value compared to the previous month.
In total, the country imported 6,867,113 tonnes of petroleum, worth US$$4.6 billion, in the first eight months of 2025. Singapore accounted for the largest share, with 2,455,475 tonnes valued at US$1.7 billion, representing 35–36% of total import volume and value, up 51.2% in volume and 27% in value year on year.
Other major petroleum suppliers were the Republic of Korea (1.96 million tonnes), Malaysia (1,138,011 tonnes) and China (912,429 tonnes).
VOV.VN - Total trade turnover between Vietnam and Singapore in January soared by 25.5% year on year to US$953 million, with petroleum imports from Singapore witnessing a three-fold rise, according to data from Vietnam Customs.
