VOV.VN - Leading Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast has exported around 1,500 VF 6 EVs to Europe to support the expansion of Green SM, the Vietnamese all-electric ride-hailing platform, marking a new milestone in the company's strategy to expand its global electric mobility ecosystem.
Two specialised vehicle carriers Sea Patris and Silver Queen docked at Hai Phong's MPC Port on July 20-21 to transport more than 5,000 VinFast electric vehicles bound for Europe and several Asian markets.
Sea Patris loaded approximately 1,500 VinFast VF 6 electric SUVs manufactured specifically for Green SM. The shipment is expected to arrive in Europe in the coming weeks to support the ride-hailing company's planned expansion across the region.
Sea Patris is the second dedicated vessel deployed by VinFast for international vehicle exports. The ship carries VinFast branding, reflecting the company's efforts to strengthen its logistics capabilities as overseas deliveries continue to expand.
Meanwhile, Silver Queen loaded more than 3,500 VinFast electric vehicles destined for the Philippines and Indonesia. The roll-on/roll-off (RORO) vessel has been chartered by VinFast for long-term operations and has previously transported vehicles to markets including the United States, Canada and several Southeast Asian countries.
Since exporting its first batch of electric vehicles in late 2022, VinFast has expanded into more than 10 international markets, including the United States, Canada, Europe, India, Indonesia, the Philippines and several Middle Eastern countries.
The increasing use of dedicated shipping vessels highlights the growing scale of the company's export operations as it continues building distribution networks and supply chains in overseas markets.
Alongside VinFast's international expansion, Green SM has also accelerated its presence abroad, launching services in countries including Laos, the Philippines, Indonesia, India and Kazakhstan. It plans to enter several European markets in the near future.
The company's expansion strategy combines electric vehicle manufacturing with mobility services, creating an integrated ecosystem that extends beyond vehicle sales to include sustainable transportation solutions.
Europe is one of the world’s most competitive electric vehicle markets, where automakers face rising demand for low-emission transport alongside intensifying competition from established global manufacturers and emerging Chinese brands. Expanding mobility services through Green SM could help strengthen VinFast’s brand visibility and support broader adoption of its electric vehicles.
Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast has launched three electric motorcycle models in Indonesia, namely Evo, Feliz II and Viper, marking a new step in its expansion strategy in Southeast Asia.
