VOV.VN - A dazzling light show took place in the central city of Hue on May 1 as part of an art programme to honour the Huong (Perfume) River that crosses the former imperial city.
The art programme serves as a highlight of this year’s Hue Festival.
It introduces a number of beautiful songs about the iconic Perfume River to both local and foreign visitors.
The event also features 36 beautiful flower boats that travel past Truong Tien and Phu Xuan bridges.
When the night finally arrives, the surface of the river glistens under the moonlight, whilst beautiful songs by local artists can be heard breaking the silence.
The Perfume River crosses the ancient capital of Hue and stretches for around 80 kilometres long.
It derives its name due to the fact that it flows through many forests of aromatic plants before eventually reaching Hue, bringing with it a pure and fresh aroma.
The poetic romantic Perfume River serves as deep inspiration to numerous artists, poets, and composers.
During the autumn, flowers from orchards based upriver fall into the water, giving the river a perfume-like aroma and a beautiful poetic view.
