On the morning of January 6, a delegation of Party and State leaders, along with representatives of National Assembly deputies from different terms, attends a ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the first General Election, then pays tribute at the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh and lays wreaths at the Martyrs’ Memorial on Bac Son Street in Hanoi.

The victory of the first General Election opened prospects for a new period of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, with a unified National Assembly and Government, and a system of state authority endowed with full legal legitimacy to represent the people in both domestic and external affairs.
