All eyes on Vietnam as two-tier local government system unveiled

VOV.VN - Vietnam officially announced the implementation of a two-tier local government model on June 30, a landmark move that is expected to enhance efficiency, reduce redundancy, and pave the way for more responsive local governance.

State President Luong Cuong attends a ceremony in Hanoi, where key decisions are announced regarding the merger of administrative units, the formation of new Party organisations, and the appointment of leadership for the Party Committees, People’s Councils, People’s Committees, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees.

Officials and residents of Cua Nam Ward, Hanoi, take part in a ceremony announcing central and local resolutions, along with decisions related to the implementation of the two-tier local government model.

In the northern midland province of Phu Tho, art performances are held at the provincial Convention Centre ahead of the announcement of major decisions.

Ethnic communities in Phu Tho Province sing and dance in celebration of this significant national milestone.

Slogans and banners line the main streets of Dien Bien Phu City, creating a festive atmosphere to mark the occasion.

Delegates arrive early at Ninh Binh Province’s Convention Centre to attend the ceremony announcing the two-tier local government model.

Delegates gather at 10/3 Square in Buon Ma Thuot City, the Central Highlands, making final preparations ahead of the announcement ceremony.

In Buon Ma Thuot City, an exhibition titled “Forest and Sea” showcases 97 photographs and 90 artifacts from Phu Yen and Dak Lak provinces, held in celebration of the national event.
