Hanoi and Gia Lai launch COVID-19 vaccination campaign
VOV.VN - Hanoi and Gia Lai province became the country’s first localities to launch their vaccination campaigns against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on March 9, with key workers being inoculated with the AstraZeneca vaccine.
The administration of the capital start their COVID-19 vaccination campaign at Thanh Nhan Hospital. In order to ensure the safety of the vaccines and the efficiency of the inoculation campaign, the hospital arranges consultation areas before injection, along with an area to monitor patients after injection and a special room for emergency cases.
As many as 30 doctors, nurses, and medical nurses from Thanh Nhan Hospital receive their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine on March 9.
This marks the first time that the authorities of Hanoi conduct the COVID-19 vaccination process. The Health Ministry will provide a total of 8,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines for the capital during the first stage between March 9 and March 18.
On the same day as Hanoi, an initial 61 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine out of a total of 1,900 doses are injected to locals in the Central Highland province of Gia Lai.
