Preparations underway at Tay Tuu flower village ahead of Tet

VOV.VN - As the capital’s largest flower growing area, Tay Tuu village in Bac Tu Liem district of Hanoi has hurriedly begun efforts in order to care for and collect flowers to supply local markets ahead of the Lunar New Year, known locally as Tet, marking the start of the largest harvest season of the year.

With roughly two months to go before the Lunar New Year, farmers based in Tay Tuu village, the largest flower growing area in Hanoi, are hurriedly taking care of plants in order to serve customers’ demand in the capital and neighbouring areas.

Starting from October according to the lunar calendar, farmers rush to take care of plants as a means of preparing for the biggest flower harvest of the year.

For many years growing flowers has provided extra opportunities which has helped local farmers to remarkably improve their living conditions.

Flowers are carefully handled in order to ensure that they bloom beautifully just in time for Tet.

Tay Tuu flower village provides a vast quantity of fresh flowers for Tet for the entirety of the northern region.

Taking care of flowers requires a meticulous eye for detail coupled with great skill.

Lilies, roses, and chrysanthemums are among the most popular flowers grown in Tay Tuu village.

A local grower harvests his chrysanthemum in Tay Tuu village.

A bunch of 50 branches of chrysanthemum costs between VND80,000 and VND100,000.

Flowers are brought to local markets to be put on sale.

With Tet fast approaching, flower growers have been extremely busy over recent times taking care of their gardens in preparation for the country’s biggest holiday.
