Quang An night flower market bustling ahead of Valentine’s Day
VOV.VN - Quang An night flower market in Tay Ho district of Hanoi has become increasingly hectic and bustling in the buildup to Valentine’s Day, which falls on February 14 annually.
Located by Nghi Tam dyke, Quang An wholesale flower market represents a hugely popular destination for the residents of the capital.
The flower market is busy with both sellers and buyers heading to the site several nights before Valentine’s Day.
The market is at its most overcrowded and noisiest from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m.
Huyen, a seller at Quang An market, says the wholesale flowers on the occasion of Valentine’s Day are twice as expensive compared to normal days.
A single rose is sold at about VND6,000, a bunch of 30 Da Lat roses costs VND150,000, and a bunch of 50 Moc Chau roses is worth around VND250,000 to VND350,000.
Mini pots of cactus prove to be among the top items among young people this year.
Quang Ba night flower market usually opens at 8 p.m. and closes at dawn the next day. Many young people come to the market not only to buy flowers, but also to admire these wonderful tiny creations, relax, and take beautiful photos.
Roses are the most sold item on this occasion. These flowers are said to be brought from gardeners in neighbouring areas such as Tay Tuu, Dong Anh, and Me Linh district of Hanoi suburb, or from China.
Alongside roses, there are dozens of other flowers with rich colours that are good choices for buyers.
A student buys a beautiful bouquet of roses at a reasonable price as a gift for his girlfriend.
