Party General Secretary To Lam and his spouse paid a state visit to Indonesia, an official visit to the ASEAN Secretariat, and an official visit to Singapore from March 9 to 13. The working trip was described as historic as Vietnam simultaneously upgraded ties to Comprehensive Strategic Partnerships with both Indonesia and Singapore.
During the five-day trip, the General Secretary held more than 40 engagements, including talks and meetings with senior leaders, aimed at expanding economic cooperation and strengthening Vietnam’s strategic influence within ASEAN.

General Secretary Lam became the first state guest received by the RoK’s new administration. During the four-day visit, he took part in nearly 30 substantive engagements. The two sides also signed 50 cooperation agreements involving ministries, agencies, organisations, businesses and localities of both countries, reflecting growing depth and breadth in bilateral ties.

The visit reaffirmed Vietnam’s consistent foreign policy of giving the highest priority to its special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Laos. President Luong Cuong paid a state visit to Laos from April 24 to 25, marking his first official visit to the neighbouring country since taking office. During the two-day trip, President Cuong held around 15 high-level engagements.
The visit delivered a strong message of reaffirming the enduring value of the Vietnam–Laos special relationship, as well as both sides’ determination to elevate bilateral ties to a new stage of development that is closer, more substantive and more effective.

Vietnam’s President Luong Cuong and his spouse paid state visits to Egypt and Angola from August 3 to 9, marking a significant step in Vietnam’s outreach to Africa.
During the trip, Vietnam and Egypt established a Comprehensive Partnership, the first such framework between Vietnam and a country in Africa. The visit also set out orientations to develop Vietnam–Angola ties into a model “partnership for cooperation and shared development,” reflecting efforts to promote South–South cooperation.
President Luong Cuong also made his first visit to the Arab League, where he delivered a policy address, underscoring Vietnam’s intention to deepen engagement with the Arab world.

President Luong Cuong and his spouse paid a working visit to the United States from September 21 to 24, where he attended the high-level general debate of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly and held a series of bilateral engagements.
The trip took place as Vietnam and the United Nations marked their 80th anniversaries, while Vietnam and the United States commemorated 30 years of normalised diplomatic relations. Over the four-day visit, President Luong Cuong conducted nearly 70 substantive and effective engagements.
During the visit, Vietnam and Tuvalu signed a joint communiqué establishing diplomatic relations.

President Luong Cuong attended the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Week and held bilateral engagements in the Republic of Korea from October 29 to November 1. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the 2025 BRICS Plus Summit and held bilateral meetings in Brazil from July 4 to 8, marking Vietnam’s first participation in the BRICS summit as a Partner Country.
During the trip, the Prime Minister delivered remarks at two of the three most important high-level sessions of the summit and held bilateral meetings with around 20 leaders of countries and international organisations. Vietnam and Brazil also signed six cooperation agreements, further strengthening bilateral ties.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse conducted official visits to Kuwait and Algeria, attended the G20 Summit, and held bilateral activities in South Africa from November 16 to 24.
During the trip, Vietnam upgraded its relations with Kuwait, Algeria, and South Africa to Strategic Partnership status, marking the country’s first strategic partnerships in the Middle East and Africa among 70 countries. At the G20 Summit, the Prime Minister delivered remarks at various high-level sessions and held meetings with about 30 world leaders and representatives of international organisations.

In 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh made two visits to Laos to co-chair the 47th and 48th Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee meetings (January 9-10 and December 2-3) and took part in meetings between the two parties’ Politburos. He also traveled twice to Malaysia to attend the 46th and 47th ASEAN Summits (May 24-28 and October 25-28) and visited China for the WEF Tianjin Summit (June 24-26) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit (August 31-September 1).

From July 22-30, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his spouse attended the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Switzerland where he conducted bilateral activities, and then made official visits to Morocco and Senegal.
