VOV.VN - During the Feb. 8-10 visit to Singapore, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met high-ranking officials and business executives in an effort to promote cooperation between the two countries.

During their talks, the two sides agree to strengthen political trust, maintain exchanges, promote cooperation in various fields, including digital economy, green and circular economy, innovation, clean energy, climate change adaptation, as well as defense-security, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
Chinh suggests Singapore consider signing a labour cooperation agreement with Vietnam, increase imports of Vietnamese agricultural, aquatic products, and textiles, and facilitate the sale of Vietnamese goods into the Singapore distribution network.

Meeting with President Halimah Yacob on February 9, the two sides agree to deepen the pillars of cooperation, especially in politics, economy, security, defense, education and training of high-quality human resources, while promoting people-to-people exchanges, stimulating tourism demand, enhancing initiatives on maritime connectivity, as well as strengthening cooperation in new fields in line with the 4.0 industrial era.
President Halimah Yacob highly appreciates the effective operation of Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIP), noting this is a success story in bilateral cooperation.
Meeting with the Speaker of the Singapore National Assembly Tan Chuan-Jin, the two sides highly appreciate the positive development of the cooperative ties between the two legislative bodies, and agree to increase the sharing of information and experience in legislation.
Tan speaks highly of Vietnam’s role in maintaining solidarity and promoting the central role of ASEAN, and assures that the two legislatures will continue working closely at the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (IPU), and the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) and other parliamentary organisations.
While meeting with Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean, the Vietnamese PM requests the Minister continue to support and promote the Vietnam - Singapore Strategic Partnership in all fields, especially digital economy, green economy, circular economy, energy transformation, innovation among others. During his stay, PM Pham Minh Chinh receives Simon Cooper, chief executive officer in charge of corporate, commercial & institutional banking and Europe & the Americas at Standard Chartered Bank, Patrick Lee, cluster CEO in charge of Singapore & ASEAN Markets. Chinh says the Government of Vietnam prioritizes and encourages green and sustainable financial development, including promoting the development of the green bond market to support the implementation of the national strategy on green growth for 2021-2030 and the ‘zero" net emissions’ commitment.
While staying in Singapore, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh lays flowers at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument inside the Asian Civilizations Museum and visited the Singapore Botanic Gardens.

The PM also has a talk with the Vietnamese Embassy’s staff and representatives of Vietnamese expatriates in Singapore.
