VOV.VN - This year has seen the number of fires and explosions decline by 25.11%, despite the number of deaths rising by 22.09% compared to the same period from last year, according to details given by the Ministry of Public Security.
The southern province of Binh Duong is hit by a fire breaking out at the three-story An Phu karaoke bar at around 9 p.m. on September 6. The fire rages so violently on the upper floor that several staff and guests present in the venue are unable to escape, trapping many people inside.
The fire is finally extinguished an hour later, with the incident leaving a death toll of 32.
The karaoke bar is thought to have contained many inflammable interior decoration materials which caused the fire to spread rapidly. President Nguyen Xuan Phuc sends his condolences to the bereaved families of the victims and asks relevant forces to look into the cause of the fire.
