VOV.VN - Prime Minister Mark Rutte of the Netherlands arrived in Hanoi on November 1 evening, beginning a two-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
Rutte was welcomed at Noi Bai International Airport by Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Netherlands Ngo Huong Nam, Dutch Ambassador to Vietnam Kees van Baar, and other officials of the two countries.
The Dutch PM paid official visits to Vietnam in June 2014 and April 2019. He has several times received senior Vietnamese leaders on visit to the Netherlands.
The visit takes place at a time when the two countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
The Netherlands is currently the largest European Union investor in Vietnam, with a total investment capital of about US$13.7 billion. It is the largest importer of Vietnamese goods in Europe, with two-way trade turnover reaching more than US$11 billion last year.
According to Dutch Ambassador Kees van Baar, the main focus of this visit is to promote bilateral cooperation in the fields of high technology and digital transformation.

The upcoming official visit to Vietnam by Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte from November 1-2 is expected to continue lifting the bilateral relations to a new height as the two countries are celebrating the 50th founding anniversary of their diplomatic ties this year.
