VOV.VN - More than 200 officers and soldiers from the Lao People’s Army and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces are actively training in Binh Duong in preparation for the upcoming military parade marking the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification of Vietnam, to be held in Ho Chi Minh City on April 30.
Since arriving in Binh Duong on April 19, the delegations, comprising around 100 members each, have quickly settled into their accommodations and begun intensive training sessions. Braving the scorching sun in April, the soldiers have been diligently rehearsing on Pham Van Dong Street, Hoa Phu Ward, Thu Dau Mot City, demonstrating high discipline and commitment.
“We are proud to take part in this historic occasion and are fully committed to performing the role to the best of our ability,” said Colonel Sompheng Keosira, head of the Lao delegation.
Echoing the Lao officer’s view, Colonel Bin Phoos, Commander of the Intervention Unit under the Royal Cambodian Gendarmerie Command, affirmed, “Though the preparation time is short, we will make every effort and intensify training to achieve the best results during the parade in Vietnam.”
According to Colonel Nguyen Dinh Chuan, political commissar of the Binh Duong Provincial Military Command, emphasised that throughout history, Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia have stood together in solidarity, sharing hardships and victories.
“The participation of the Lao and Cambodian armies in this parade further highlights the deep-rooted friendship, special solidarity, and close-knit bonds between the peoples and armed forces of the three countries,” stated Col. Chuan.
He also affirmed Binh Duong’s commitment to providing the best possible support in terms of logistics, accommodation, and training conditions to ensure the foreign delegations perform at their best.
The 50th anniversary celebration of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on April 30. The highlight of the ceremony will be the grand military parade featuring the participation of thousands of Vietnamese officers and soldiers, alongside international military forces from Laos, Cambodia, and China at the invitation of Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defence.
