VOV.VN - A high-level Vietnamese delegation led by President Luong Cuong will attend the High-Level General Debate of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA-80) and conduct a series of bilateral activities in the United States from September 21-24.
The 80th session of the UN General Assembly will run for one year until September 8, 2026, under the overarching theme “Better together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights.” The theme reflects the aspiration to promote international solidarity, uphold multilateralism, and advance cooperation for peace, security, development, and the protection of human rights.
The highlight of the session will be the High-Level Week, taking place from September 22 to 30, with the participation of leaders and senior officials from all 193 UN member states.
Significantly, UNGA-80 coincides with the 80th anniversary of the United Nations. Observers expect this session, as the Organization’s chief policy-making body, to contribute to advancing reforms toward greater responsiveness, effectiveness, transparency, and capacity to address global challenges.
