Sri Lanka President wishes to strengthen relations with Vietnam

Wickremesinghe introduced Sri Lanka’s efforts in overcoming the economic crisis over the past two years, thereby reaping important results in GDP growth, inflation control and exports.

He expressed his wish that the newly accredited Ambassador during her new working term would contribute and support Sri Lanka to become an attractive destination for international investment, trade and tourism.

For her part, Tam, who earlier presented the credentials to the President, congratulated Sri Lanka on negating the impact of the recent economic crisis, and expressed her belief that Sri Lanka would successfully hold the upcoming Presidential elections.

Vietnam always values ​​traditional friendship and cooperation with Sri Lanka, she said, confirming that the two sides still have a lot of potential to promote cooperation, especially in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, trade, culture, tourism, Buddhism towards the 55th anniversary of bilateral diplomacy in 2025.

The Ambassador vowed to work hard to further strengthen the existing good friendly relationship between the governments and people of the two countries.
