Vietnam seeks assistance to green transition, digital transformation strategies

VOV.VN - Vietnam pursues and seeks to realize green transition and digital transformation strategies, considering them the key to development, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has said.

Ha was introducing Vietnam’s development policy during his separate meetings with World Bank President Ajay Banga, Canadian Minister of International Development Harjit Singh Sajjan and Danish Minister for Development Cooperation and Global Climate Policy Dan Jorsengen in Paris on June 22.

At the meeting with the WB President, Ha expected that the two sides would continue to strengthen ODA cooperation, and effectively implement WB-funded projects in Vietnam, especially in the fields of urban infrastructure development, climate change adaptation, energy transformation and capacity building.

Receiving Sajjan, the two sides affirmed close coordination in implementing development cooperation projects, opening up new investment and business opportunities. The Canadian Minister proposed increasing cooperation in the fields of green development and energy transition.

While meeting with Jorsengen, the two sides discussed measures to effectively implement the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) for Vietnam. They agreed to soon establish a Green Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Denmark to elevate bilateral relations and support Vietnam’s green transition.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha is in Paris, France, for an international conference on a New Global Financial Pact summit.
