VOV.VN - Vietnam has voiced deep concern over the escalating tensions in the Middle East, calling on all parties to exercise restraint, refrain from the use of force, and resume dialogue to safeguard regional and global peace and stability.
Responding to reporters’ questions on March 3, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang reaffirmed Vietnam’s position stated in the February 28 statement.
“Vietnam opposes acts involving the use of force against sovereign states, particularly attacks targeting civilian infrastructure that result in casualties,” she said, warning that such actions seriously endanger lives and property, including those of Vietnamese nationals in the region, while undermining economic activity and stability more broadly.
The spokesperson called on relevant parties to act responsibly, strictly adhere to international law, the Charter and relevant resolutions of the United Nations, respect national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and create favourable conditions for dialogue aimed at settling differences through peaceful means.
International reports indicate that hostilities intensified following strikes on defence and security targets in Iran, prompting retaliatory actions and resulting in casualties in several countries across the region.
Vietnamese diplomatic missions in the Gulf region have so far reported no casualties or property damage involving Vietnamese citizens.
