VOV.VN - The Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt and Lebanon on September 23 issued an urgent notice advising Vietnamese citizens living and working in Lebanon to leave the country in the context of conflict escalations and risk expansion in the region.
In case of unavoidable circumstances that prevent departure, it recommended that the citizens remain vigilant, closely monitor media developments, limit gatherings in crowded places, and avoid approaching the Lebanon-Israel border, the southern area of Beirut, and the northern regions near the Syrian border.
The embassy recommended that the citizens find temporary shelter in safer areas and stock up on food and medicine in case of emergencies.
The embassy will continue to monitor the situation and maintain contact with the citizens to prepare contingency plans for potential emergencies, while staying ready to coordinate with relevant authorities for evacuation or protection if necessary, it said in the urgent notice.
The embassy also advised Vietnamese citizens planning to travel to Lebanon to postpone or cancel their trips until the situation stabilizes.
In August, the embassy reported that there were 11 Vietnamese citizens living and studying in Lebanon, primarily in Beirut and surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, Israel has increased its attacks on Hezbollah with the aim of eliminating the threat and allowing residents living near the Lebanon border to return home after months of evacuation.
Vietnam has called on parties involved in conflicts to strictly comply with international law and international humanitarian law, especially the four 1949 Geneva Conventions and relevant UN resolutions, thus better protecting civilians in conflicts.
