Zarubezhneft seeks to expand operations in Vietnam

Zarubezhneft General Director Kudryashov Sergei Ivanovich made the proposal during his meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Kazan, Russia, on October 23 during the latter’s participation in the 16th BRICS Summit.

Kudryashov briefed Chinh on the outcomes of cooperation between PetroVietnam and Zarubezhneft in both Vietnam and Russia, and thanked the Government of Vietnam, for its support in facilitating this partnership, especially in resolving obstacles to cooperation, in recent times.

He expressed hope that the Vietnamese Government and the Prime Minister personally would continue to support PetroVietnam and Zarubezhneft in expanding their mutually beneficial cooperation in alignment with current realities.

At the meeting, Chinh emphasized that cooperation in the oil, gas, and energy sector is a symbol of the close and effective partnership between the two countries, contributing positively to their respective development.

He welcomed the successful operation of the PetroVietnam and Zarubezhneft partnership for more than 40 years, and affirmed that the Government of Vietnam always supports businesses from both countries in expanding cooperation, in accordance with their respective laws, the framework of the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and the interests of both peoples.

The Prime Minister also expressed his desire for both sides to explore new areas of cooperation, including tourism, green energy, clean energy, and infrastructure development to support energy and oil and gas cooperation.

The General Director of Zarubezhneft agreed with Chinh’s guidance and affirmed the firm’s commitment to working closely with PetroVietnam to realise the PM’s proposals.
