
VOV.VN - The Politburo has issued a Resolution, officially establishing the Central Steering Committee on Institutional and Legal Reform headed by Party General Secretary To Lam.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man were appointed deputy heads of the committee.
According to the resolution, the functions, tasks, authority, working mechanisms, and interagency coordination of the Steering Committee will be carried out in accordance with the Politburo’s regulations.
The Party Committee of the National Assembly is tasked with leading the legislative improvement process to meet the development needs of the country in the new era, and strengthening supervision in accordance with the law.
The Party Committee of the Government is responsible for developing an action programme to implement the resolution, while collaborating with the National Assembly Party Committee to fully institutionalise relevant policies, and directing the Ministry of Justice to draft a resolution for the coming 9th session of the 15th National Assembly on special mechanisms and policies to create breakthroughs in law-making and enforcement.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front is to lead public education and mobilisation efforts, encouraging people to implement the resolution, enhancing public oversight, social criticism, and participation in legal construction and compliance.
The Party Central Committee’s Education-Information and Mass Mobilisation Commission is assigned to lead communication efforts and guide the implementation of the resolution’s core messages.
Provincial and municipal Party Committees are expected to work out programmes and plans to strengthen leadership over legislative development and implementation in their localities.
The Central Steering Committee on Institutional and Legal Reform has been established to strengthen the country's legal and institutional framework, aiming to meet the demands of national development in the new era. This reflects Vietnam's ambition to build a modern, efficient, and accountable legal system that supports sustainable development, governance reform, and international integration.
