NA Chairman offers incense in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh

VOV.VN - On the morning of February 9, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man offered incense in remembrance of President Ho Chi Minh at House 67 inside the Presidential Palace complex in Hanoi.

The ceremony was held on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), following the successful conclusion of the Party’s 14th National Parthy Congress, marking the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s first general election to the National Assembly, and ahead of the Lunar New Year.

Before the memorial altar of President Ho Chi Minh, Tran Thanh Man, representing the Party Committee of the National Assembly and its affiliated bodies, respectfully offered incense and expressed profound gratitude for Ho Chi Minh’s immense contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

Ho Chi Minh is regarded as a visionary leader of the Vietnamese people and a revolutionary figure of international stature. He has been widely respected by socialist and communist parties, as well as movements advocating peace and national independence around the world. The international community continues to value his enduring contributions to Vietnam’s struggle for national liberation, independence, freedom and territorial reunification.

Ho Chi Minh founded Vietnam’s National Assembly through the country’s first general election on January 6, 1946. He devoted great effort to laying the foundations for building and strengthening the legislature over successive periods.

Tran Thanh Man noted that 2025 marks an important milestone, with five years remaining until the centenary of the CPV. He described the current period as one of profound renewal for the Party, the country and the nation, achievements made possible under the Party’s leadership and through the legacy of Ho Chi Minh’s contributions to national liberation, construction and defence.

The top Vietnamese legislator pledged that in 2026 he would work with the National Assembly Party Committee and its agencies to effectively implement the spirit of the 14th National Party Congress, fulfilling the legislature’s responsibilities in lawmaking, supreme oversight and decisions on major national issues.

He also highlighted preparations for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, while stressing coordination with the Government to deal with current challenges under the leadership of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Party Central Committee and Party General Secretary To Lam.

Representatives of the site’s management board reported notable results in 2025 and outlined plans for 2026. The historical complex welcomed nearly 2.6 million domestic and international visitors in 2025.

During the year, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Management Board successfully organised 15 thematic exhibitions. It is currently hosting displays on the 14 National Party Congresses, alongside exhibitions marking the upcoming election of deputies to the 16th legislature and People’s Councils for the 2026-2031 term, which have captured major interest from both domestic and international visitors.
