PM Chinh's UAE visit widely covered by regional media

Al-Khaleej newspaper (The Gulf) reported on October 27 that PM Chinh’s trip had taken place within the framework of the two countries' shared interest and desire to promote bilateral relations, while stating that Vietnam represents the UAE's largest non-oil trade partner in ASEAN. This comes as bilateral non-oil trade continued to increase strongly in the first half of the year, reaching US$6.1 billion, up 9% over the same period from 2023.

Meanwhile, the UAE media and several Gulf countries highlighted the results achieved during the course of the visit, especially the agreement between the nation and the UAE to upgrade bilateral relations to that of a Comprehensive Partnership and the signing of the Vietnam-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). This is as well as a series of agreements and memorandums of understanding agreed between the two countries in many important fields, including economics, investment, trade, governmental development, education, and research.

Local media quoted UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as commenting on the Vietnam-UAE relationship by saying, "Today, our relationship with Vietnam is flourishing. We are their largest trading partner in the Middle East. Our non-oil trade reached more than US$12 billion last year. We are aiming for the signing of a new cooperation agreement and believe in the future of this relationship. Trade exchange soared by 38% between 2022 and 2023 and with the signing of this agreement, it will increase even more in the coming years."
