VOV.VN - US Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Bonnie Jenkins is set to visit Vietnam on August 26- 27.
The official will lead a US delegation to attend the annual US-Vietnam political, security, and defence dialogue in Hanoi.
During their stay in Hanoi, the US delegation will also discuss progress in bilateral relations amid both nations celebrating the first anniversary of their upgrade to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
In addition to meetings with Vietnamese government officials, the US diplomat will also engage in roundtable discussions with non-governmental organizations which are carrying out projects to clear landmines left over from the war and discuss the role of women in international security with students.
