VOV.VN - As many as 110 youth delegates from nine ASEAN member countries and Japan have arrived in Ho Chi Minh City for the 2023 ASEAN-Japan Youth Festival from December 12-15.
Themed “ASEAN – Japan Youth Hand-in-hand to Implement Sustainable Development Goals” the festival is part of activities to celebrate 50 years of ASEAN-Japan partnership and to strengthen understanding and exchange between youths of ASEAN and Japan.
The delegates have been divided into five groups to discuss such topics as quality of education; gender equality and women empowerment; economic development, sustainable cities and communities; energy and climate change response; and health and welfare.
On December 12, the delegates discussed the role of ASEAN-Japan youth in promoting sustainable development goals. They also took part in a race to raise funds for community activities on December 13.
Within the framework of this festival, the delegates will participate in many other activities; experience local culture and cuisine; and visit some landmarks in Ho Chi Minh City.
Other activities include an exhibition ‘Friendly relations and youth cooperation between ASEAN and Japan’ and mangrove tree planting in Can Gio district.
Vietnam Youth Federation partnered with Google to organise the forum "Promoting the Pioneering Role of Youth in Digital Transformation", bringing together 500 delegates from various government agencies, youth organisations and media outlets.
