At around 9:00 a.m., border guards stationed at Tien Sa Port discovered the dolphin showing signs of fatigue, with multiple scratches on its body. They immediately administered first aid to stabilise the animal.

After the dolphin regained strength, the Border Guard Station coordinated with local fishermen to transport it by boat into deeper waters, where it was safely released back into its natural ocean habitat.

Major Tran The Dung, inspector and supervisor at the Tien Sa Port Border Guard Station, confirmed this was the first recorded instance of a dolphin being found stranded in the area. He noted that the likely cause was entanglement in fishing nets, which left the dolphin exhausted and vulnerable to being swept ashore by waves.

Dolphin sightings have been reported multiple times along Vietnam’s central coast, though such stranding events remain rare.
