VOV.VN - Police operating in the central province of Quang Binh said on July 29 that they have handed over three Chinese nationals to their counterparts in the central coastal province of Quang Ngai after the trio killed a taxi driver during an attempt to rob his car.
The suspects were identified as Huang Jie Cheng, 18; Luo Shi Jun, 16; and Gan Ying, 17.
According to details given by Quang Binh police, on July 28 they stopped a suspicious taxi that was travelling through Quang Tho ward of Ba Don Town. However, instead of halting the vehicle the driver chose to speed up with the aim of running away from the police and was only forced to stop after crashing into a motorbike and a car.
One at the police station, the three Chinese citizens admitted that they had caught a taxi in the northern province of Quang Ninh to drive them to a southern region. When the taxi reached Quang Ngai province, they chose to kill the driver to rob his car.
The victim was Nguyen Van Hai, 47, residing in Ha Long City.
The case is under further investigation.
