
VOV.VN - A cold spell is forecast to hit the country's northern region in the days leading up to Tet, according to predictions made by the National Hydrometeorological Forecasting Centre.
The cold front is expected to begin affecting the region between January 13 and January 17 with light showers, whilst the next day will see the northern region experience sunny weather in both the morning and afternoon.
From January 19, rain will increase in intensity and temperatures will drop as the cold snap strengthens.
Similarly, the central region will witness temperatures decrease and face spells of rain during this period. However, the Central Highlands and southern region will enjoy some sunny weather, with rain occurring in several areas.
VOV.VN - Hoar frost blanketed the top of Mount Fansipan, the nation’s highest peak in the northern province of Lao Cai, in the early morning of January 3 following a new cold wave.
The severe cold spell, which has blanketed the northern region as well as the north-central provinces of Thanh Hoa and Nghe An for about 10 days now, is expected to end early this week.
