The closing ceremony of a competition on the culture and people of Vietnam and China, and an art exchange programme for Vietnamese and Chinese students were held in the northern city of Hai Phong on October 26 by the city's Vietnam-China Friendship Association.
The competition aimed to provide a useful and healthy playground for both Vietnamese and Chinese students studying in Hai Phong to showcase their knowledge about the culture and people of Vietnam and China.
Pham Ngoc Dien, General Secretary of the municipal Vietnam-China Friendship Association, highlighted the enthusiastic participation in the competition over the past two months, with the involvement from students, youth members, and various organisations, including schools and language centers across the city.
The organising board received 380 works in both Vietnamese and Chinese languages, including 356 essays and 24 video clips from over 300 participants.
At the ceremony, the organising board presented 17 awards to outstanding works.
The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Da Nang University on August 18 co-organised an exchange programme for Vietnamese and Chinese young people.
Vietnam’ and China’s youth organisations should enhance exchange activities and partnerships in personnel training, said Le Quoc Phong, First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee.
