VOV.VN - The central city of Da Nang has maintained its leading position in terms of readiness for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) development and application, topping the Vietnam ICT Index rankings in 2022.
This is the 13th consecutive year which Da Nang has secured first place in the ratings of the country’s 63 cities and provinces, according to a report released by the Vietnam Association for Information Processing (VAIP) and the Authority of Information Technology and Communications Industry.
The coastal city continued to lead the way with a total score of 0.9094, followed by other localities such as Can Tho, Quang Ninh, and Thua Thien – Hue.
It acquired the technical infrastructure index at 0.97 points, human resource infrastructure index at 0.77 points, and information technology application at 0.77 points.
Launched in 2005 and based on UN criteria, the Vietnam ICT Index assesses technical infrastructure, human resource infrastructure, IT application, online public services delivery, and the IT industry in cities and provinces.
The central city’s software export turnover in August reached US$97.34 million, up 31.5% year on year and fulling 66.7% of the set plan, according to the municipal administration.
The central city of Da Nang and the Ministry of Finance once again topped the Digital Transformation Index (DTI) rankings for 2021, the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications announced at the third meeting of the National Committee on Digital Transformation on August 9.
