VOV.VN - The Immigration Department of Dong Nai Provincial Police, in coordination with relevant agencies, has deported 47 foreign nationals for serious violations of Vietnam’s residency regulations.
According to local authorities on April 18, those deported include 45 Bangladeshi nationals, one Korean, and one Taiwanese (China).
Inspections found that most cases involved overstaying visas without renewal, using visas for purposes inconsistent with their entry status—such as entering on tourist or business visas but engaging in unauthorised employment—and failing to declare temporary residence as required while staying at rental properties or residential areas.
Dong Nai Police have urged organisations, individuals, and businesses to strictly comply with legal regulations concerning foreign nationals.
Employers are only permitted to hire foreign workers with valid work permits and legal residency documents. Any acts of harbouring, employing, or facilitating illegal residence or employment by foreign nationals will be strictly handled, with penalties ranging from administrative sanctions to business license revocation or criminal prosecution, depending on the severity of the violation.
Accommodation providers, including hotels, guesthouses, and rental apartments, are required to promptly register the temporary residence of foreign guests through the electronic system of the police upon check-in.
Authorities also advised foreign nationals living and working in Vietnam to strictly comply with immigration and residency laws. Violations, including overstaying, may result in fines, forced exit, deportation, and possible entry bans for a specified period.
Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspected cases of illegal residence or employment involving foreign nationals to the police, contributing to the maintenance of public security and order in the locality.
