VOV.VN - Five earthquakes were recorded on May 26 in Nam Tra My district in central Quang Nam province and Kon Plong district in Kon Tum province, according to the Vietnam Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Centre under the Institute of Geophysics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.
In Nam Tra My, four quakes measuring between 2.5 and 3.0 on the Richter scale struck at a depth of around 8 km. All were classified as level 0 in terms of disaster risk.
Kon Plong district also reported a magnitude 3.4 tremor, with no associated disaster risk, according to the centre.
The centre is continuing to monitor seismic activity in the region.
Just a day earlier, six consecutive quakes ranging from magnitude 2.5 to 4.2 were detected in Kon Plong in central highlands Kon Tum province, while Nam Tra My reported two tremors measuring 2.6.
VOV.VN - A strong earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale struck Muong Cha district in Dien Bien province, northern Vietnam, at noon on May 16, shaking the region and being clearly felt by local residents.
