VOV.VN - Border forces operating in Trung Khanh district of the northern mountainous province of Cao Bang said on June 8 that they have arrested four Chinese citizens who were trying to enter the nation illegally.
The arrests took place on the early morning of June 7 in Doai Duong commune of Trung Khanh district.
Upon being questioned by local police officers, the suspects, each of whom originates from either Longjiang, Shandong, and Fujian in China, confessed to attempting to illegally enter the country. Their final destination was supposed to be Cambodia, which they stated they wanted to reach for the purpose of employment.
Following the arrest of the group, police forces immediately placed them into quarantine in an effort to prevent the possible spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The case is currently under further investigation.
