Metfone spreads the spirit of community through blood donation drive in Cambodia

The event is designed to help deal with the country’s urgent blood shortage, contribute to public healthcare, and spread a spirit of compassion, solidarity, and humanity across the community.

This marked the second consecutive year that Metfone has held the Blood Donation Day in cooperation with Cambodia’s National Blood Transfusion Center. The program forms part of Metfone’s regular social initiatives, reflecting its business philosophy of pioneering development alongside social responsibility and community care.

Nhong Dinthan, Deputy General Director of Metfone, said the company’s business activities have long gone hand in hand with social contributions and community responsibility. In particular, the blood donation initiative with the National Blood Transfusion Center is organized to support patients in urgent need of transfusions. He added that the program also helps strengthen the close friendship between the governments and peoples of Vietnam and Cambodia.

The event drew an enthusiastic response, attracting 115 volunteers, including both Vietnamese and Cambodian staff members of Metfone as well as partner representatives.

All blood units collected will be stored at the National Blood Transfusion Center to serve Metfone staff and patients in need of emergency transfusions.

According to Metfone’s plan, from now until the end of 2025, the company will continue its community engagement programs such as Lunar New Year festival (Tet) gift-giving for Khmer people of Vietnamese origin and donations for disadvantaged households. These efforts reaffirm Metfone’s strong sense of social responsibility and commitment to local communities while further nurturing the longstanding friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia.
